In the early stages of this project, we embarked on an intensive selection process to find the perfect tiles from our extensive terracotta tile series. After much deliberation and consideration of the aesthetic and practical needs of the café, we decided on two specific sizes of terracotta subway tiles: the 75x300mm and the 68x136mm. These dimensions were chosen to offer a harmonious blend of versatility and style, allowing for creative patterning and efficient coverage of both large and small areas.

However, the decision to use terracotta tones went beyond mere practicality. Terracotta tiles, with their rich, earthy hues, bring a natural warmth and rustic charm to any space. This was precisely the atmosphere we aimed to create for ARTEMIS PASTRY—a place where customers could feel at ease, surrounded by the inviting tones reminiscent of sun-baked clay and natural landscapes. But how do these terracotta tones enhance the overall café setting?

The answer lies in their ability to complement a wide range of interior elements. The warm, earthy tones of the terracotta tiles harmonize with the wooden accents and cozy seating, creating a soothing atmosphere. The Outdoor Dining Area

As you walk into the outdoor dining area, you are greeted by a delightful interplay of terracotta tones. The terracotta subway tiles on the ground are complemented by coffee-bean-colored sofas and chairs, accented with white cushions and tables. The glass roof lets in an abundance of natural light, enhancing the warm, earthy ambiance. Notably, the floor features a unique touch – interspersed black subway tiles add a subtle yet striking contrast.

The Order and Pastry Area

Moving inside, the order and pastry area beckons. The steps leading up to this area are lined with terracotta subway tiles, ensuring a seamless design flow. Inside, the sight of colorful pastries displayed on wooden tables with glass tops instantly catches the eye. The floor continues the theme of terracotta subway tiles with occasional black tiles, creating a sophisticated backdrop that makes the vibrant pastries pop.

The Indoor Dining Area

After selecting your favorite pastries, it’s time to enjoy them in the indoor dining area. This space mirrors the design of the outdoor area, with terracotta subway tiles and black accents on the floor, coffee-colored tones throughout, and round bulb lights illuminating the cozy seating areas by the walls.

The Unique Washroom Design

Don’t forget to visit the washroom, where our creativity truly shines. This space exemplifies our commitment to combining functionality with unique design elements. We adorned the walls with white glazed porcelain kit-kai tiles, choosing them for their sleek, glossy finish and timeless appeal. These tiles are arranged in elegant semi-arch shapes, lending a modern and stylish flair to the room. The semi-arches not only add a visually interesting pattern but also create a sense of depth and dimension. A large round mirror is strategically placed to complement the semi-arched walls, enhancing the room’s distinctive charm and creating a cohesive look. This thoughtfully designed washroom is a perfect blend of practicality and aesthetics, making even a brief visit a delightful experience.
